An Introduction to TEC1 Points

Here we will try to give you an explanation of what TEC1 points are, how to obtain them and redeem them for things you may want. TEC1 points are not the same as fame or in game currency (Scum Bucks), below you will see an explanation of all 3 to give you a full understanding of how the overall economy works on Exile.

Scum Bucks

This is the in-game cash you get this by selling items to traders, finding it while looting. It can be used at the trader only in exchange for the good that they offer. Pretty much the same as IRL money you use every day.

Fame points

This is given to prisoners for impressing the shows audience (remember Scum is a TV show and it’s important to impress the viewers). The more activities you do, the more the audience will like you and in turn, the more famous you will become. When you fail at a task or another prisoner kills you, you lose credibility and Fame. There will soon be additional uses for your fame on Exile server, but let’s not digress.

TEC1 Points

TEC1 corporation need their TV show to be successful, therefore they need the prisoners to be available and active as much as possible. To incentivise this, TEC1 Points (TP) are given to Prisoners by TEC1 for their overall contribution to the show, you cannot use them to buy goods, like weapons from the trader, but you can exchange them for favours from TEC1 to help you survive on the Island or simply to gain advantages over your fellow prisoners. TEC1 Points are unique to Exile and cannot be earned on other Islands. In short, the more you are active (online) the more points you will earn.

Being a squad will affect the amount of TEC1 Points you earn, bigger your squad becomes, the less you will get per minute/hour

  • Squad size: 1-2 Will get the full amount of Points per minute
  • Squad Size: 3-4 Will get 20% less points
  • Squad Size 5-6 Will get 40% less points
  • Squad Size 7-8 Will get 60% less points

Ok, so now we have all that clarified, you may want to know what you can use your TEC1 Points for, well we have listed the features that you can redeem for your TEC1 Points, which you can find here. There are more features we are working on, but we can’t give you any details on them just yet. Remember anything you can use TEC1 points for, will be more focused on the interests of TEC1 TV producers and making the show more interesting to watch rather than doing inmates any true favours.
